With more than 20 years experience in high growth industries, Mary-Jane brings broad experience and an innovative perspective to her clients' marketing projects. Through her leadership roles in a range of industries, she has demonstrated energy, new thinking, and disciplined goal setting- all essential ingredients of managing for success.
Prior to founding Events Marketing, Mary-Jane spent five years as vice president and general manager of a leading media agency. She has also served as managing director of a Canadian software company with applications for environmental and quality control. Under her direction, a Canadian health care products company was selected by its industry peers for the Silver award for "Best New Product" in 1994. In addition, Mary-Jane has held a variety of executive, management and sales management positions with companies that include Kronos, Hewlett Packard and Xerox.
Mary-Jane has an MBA (Schulich School of Business, York University), a post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Management (Schulich School of Business 2007), and a BA (Psychology) from University of Ottawa. She is an accredited associate of the Institute for Independent Business.
Mary-Jane is also a senior associate of Axelerate Advisory Group, an innovative management consulting firm specializing in independent business. In her spare time, Mary-Jane is an active athlete, is a member of Sweet Adeline's International, and is mom to two exceptional children.
Véronique Peyrel
Project Manager
A highly talented Project Manager, Véronique carries responsibility for overseeing the successful execution of all projects at EM. Her strong communication skills in both official languages, and extensive experience in managing projects in the service sector, provide her framework of excellence. Able to quickly identify and articulate key steps in the planning process, understand potential risks and set backs, and source important project components, are skills which enable Veronique to provide well rounded project planning and execution as well as important contingency planning.
In her previous role as a Marketing Manager for a Canadian market research conference company and subject matter think tank, Véronique managed client relations while overseeing service delivery.
Véronique has an undergraduate Arts Degree and a Master Degree from France's well-respected Clermont Graduate School of Management (ESC Clermont), majoring in project and process management.
As hobbies Véronique hosts a local French-language radio show, and is an avid runner.
Rebecca Tapiero
Recruitment Manager
As Events Marketing's results-oriented Recruitment Manager Rebecca blends her passion for marketing, corporate training and collaborative team building talents in overseeing a challenging, rewarding role in staffing our projects nationally. As Recruitment Manager Rebecca is responsible for all staffing for the company.
Coming to EM from after four years with Japan's largest English language school, Rebecca's energy, creativity and solid communication skills enable her to bring insight, intuition and a solid recruitment background to this challenging role at EM.
Rebecca has a Bachelor of Arts (English) from York University, Toronto and is also fluent in French, Japanese and Spanish languages.
In her spare time, Rebecca is an accomplished athlete and current Yoga aficionado. After a few years traveling the world, Rebecca's travel bug has been replaced by a passion for recruitment.
