Mary-Jane Owen
President

With more than 20 years experience in high growth industries, Mary-Jane brings broad experience and an innovative perspective to her clients' marketing projects. Through her leadership roles in a range of industries, she has demonstrated energy, new thinking, and disciplined goal setting- all essential ingredients of managing for success.

Prior to founding Events Marketing, Mary-Jane spent five years as vice president and general manager of a leading media agency. She has also served as managing director of a Canadian software company with applications for environmental and quality control. Under her direction, a Canadian health care products company was selected by its industry peers for the Silver award for "Best New Product" in 1994. In addition, Mary-Jane has held a variety of executive, management and sales management positions with companies that include Kronos, Hewlett Packard and Xerox.

Mary-Jane has an MBA (Schulich School of Business, York University), a post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Management (Schulich School of Business 2007), and a BA (Psychology) from University of Ottawa. She is an accredited associate of the Institute for Independent Business.

Mary-Jane is also a senior associate of Axelerate Advisory Group, an innovative management consulting firm specializing in independent business. In her spare time, Mary-Jane is an active athlete, is a member of Sweet Adeline's International, and is mom to two exceptional children.

Corinne Payne
National Project Manager

Based in Montreal, Qc Corinne is the National Project Manager responsible for large scale executions. Fluent in both official languages, Corinne joined the company in 2004 and having played a number of front-line roles within the company has become expert in many of the company’s unique methodologies.

Previously Corinne was part of the senior management team at a Canadian retail powerhouse, rising up the ladder to the position of Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising prior to leaving the corporate world for a few years to raise a family.

Corinne actively volunteers within the community and is mom to two impressive children. She holds a BComm from Memorial University.

Rob Hollingsworth
Project Manager and Business Development Manager

Based in Vancouver, BC Rob plays a joint role of Project Manager and Business Development Manager. Rob is responsible for our Western operations with both top and bottom line priorities.

Born in London, England and having traveled extensively across Europe and North America, Rob brings vast project management experience from key operational roles with the Vancouver Olympics and as well with over 15 years experience in producing international music tours and events for top entertainers.

Marie Carr
Recruitment and Administrative Coordinator

As EM’s Recruitment and Administrative Coordinator, Marie understands that the company’s most important asset is the collective creativity and commitment of its work force. Marie sources top talent across Canada and then works closely with the Project Managers to provide them with the appropriate tools and techniques to think out of the box and deliver top notch executions.

Fluent in both official languages, Marie spearheads front line recruitment for national projects.

Marie was born in England. Prior to joining EM, Marie worked in Paris and London in a range of executive administrative roles. She has a Bachelor of Arts from University of Salford, England, and is currently pursuing graduate studies in Translation.

Araz Rzayev
Bookkeeper

Araz Rzayev is the Bookkeeper at EM, focused on delivering top value to our clients with effective budgeting and cost controls.

Prior to joining EM, Araz served as an internal control auditor for in the financial sector. Araz has a Bachelor of Finance degree from State Economic University, Azerbaijan.

Mary-Anne Owen Thomas
Client Services Representative

Mary-Anne is a Client Services Representative on the Business Development Team.

Mary-Anne joined the company in 2007 as a brand ambassador for key client campaigns. She has also worked on the recruitment team in head office.

Mary-Anne is a 4th year student at York University, and dances competitively across the GTA.
